I saw it last night. And it was okay, but nothing like before. And there were so many loose ends. And they left it with a cliffhanger! And how did B end up alive? Didn't Jack kill him? And Jack didn't seem quite so drunk/crazy as before. He was almost normal. And half the lines I couldn't hear/understand. Of course, I do have a hearing problem. But come on. I had the book version and I read that last night and that cleared some stuff up.
God, I hope the third one is infantely better

SPOILERS
Right now I have calmed down enough to be more coherant let's try again!
The film is very good and although I'm not sure if overall it is better then pirates 1, there are big parts that i prefered. The film is quite confusing and if I hadn't read all the spoilers and storylines that I had I think I would have been very confused with all the Davy Jones and who is doing what and when nonsense! In the beginning when Jack gets the key from that disgusting place with the dead bodies and birds and stuff, is that the East India Trading Company? Because that was the only place I thought it must be although I'm not one hundred percent sure.
I have to say the Indian guy in Jack's crew really annoyed me but I'm not sure why and I was surprised Jack wasn't more unnerved by their standing up to him with the mutiny and all. Although his little speech about the key was funny and confusing, in true Jack style.
Another thing about the film which is very different to the first is that it feels that everything happens very quickly because before I knew it Jack had the black mark and they were in Tia Dalms. That was an amazing set especially at the end with all the people with candles- I found that quite upsetting actually. Tia Dalm was good at being quite horrible with all her makeup and mystic ways. Jack was good in that part with all the odd things he was doing though.
Elizabeth and Will moment in the cells was touching and it was nice how Gov. Swann still tried to get Lizzie out of jail. Also nice links back to one with the dog (And on cannibal Island!). I didn't like Cutler Beckett, I didn't think he was strong enough and that Lizzie was by far the dominant character in the scene where she holds the gun to his head. He reminded me too much of Mr Collins in p and p and even though he was the same actor, there was not enough change. That's what I thought anyway.
Then the cannibal island and the ongoing joke about Jack's dirt I liked, especially when he was hugging it to him in the rowing boats. I loved the bit with Ball licky licky! How did he say that without laughing?! Very amusing that whole thing and the only part that made me jump was when the guy was standing in the side and catches Will. I screamed then! Clever stunts and nice scenery in that part and nice Jack kebab- wouldn't mind sampling that one!! The gorge filming was very impressive as well- very nice camera shots.
Nice to see Ragetti and Pintel again even though some of those jokes were a bit forced I felt, they were quite comedic and nice to have back without a personal agenda. So anyway... erm where was I? Oh Lizzie on the ship was fun with the headless woman and how the burning spelt out Tortuga and the joke about the woman being naked! That was amusing.
Oh forgot to say that I liked Giselle and Scarlett talking to Will and slapping him- lovely part from 1. I didn't like all the make up on the guys that were going to die on the ship when the Dutchman came. Eurgh!!! But Will was courageous and was good in that part. Jack was very sneaky here and it also made me jump when Davy appeared on the Pearl. Evil Jack was very sexy I must admit!
Lovely moments between Will and Bootstrap, especially with the dice and the teamwork to getting the key. That whole ship was very creepy but very impressive to watch, very nice designs. Davy Jones was very good because I didn't hate him and at times I really felt sorry for him. Lovely fangirl moment when Will's shirt got ripped off!!!!!
Tortuga- Jack shaking his compass was good! That whole souls thing I liked and then we get to one of the most improved characters, besides Elizabeth, Norrie was FAB! He was so surly and good! LOved the whole tree in front of Jack thing which was very funny and then the drunken fights. Where did Lizzie learn to fight like that?!
Loved the exchange between Jack and Lizzie about 'I've come to find the man I love' and jeez the tension between those 2 was electric. I'm very surprised that they still got in that scenes about being curious but I guess nothing happened. I had a very wry smile on the line 'My compass works fine!' Typical Jack!
Right so I think I've written enough because my fingers hurt now! I knew what was going to happen with Barbossa but it still shocked me and Lizzie and Jacks kiss was good especially the 'pirate'. I'm glad they didnt make Jack's demise too sad as it was done quite humourously. Also I wasn't expecting the twist that it was Norrie who came out on top! He got the heart which definitely surprised me.
So summarising all of that and knowing me I'll probably come back and write more about the ending and more stuff I loved but Norrie and Lizzie had the best improvement, Will had a darker pirate and Jack was loveable in a different way to the first film and Davy Jones was a good character. Tia Dalm was nicely horrible and it all sets up nicely for the next one. There were some very good fighting, amazing scenery and wonderful stunts to set it off nicely. Anway that's me done for now!

I really liked the movie, don't get me wrong, but I've always been the one to like the original better than the sequel, though this one I must say put up a hard fight. (<--That is one horribly written sentence, if it can even be called a sentence...T.T*)
One of the things that I wasn't impressed by was the CGI. I dunno, I just liked the skeleton crew better than the half dead, barnacle-eaten, crew.
But I really liked the sword fight among Will, Jack, and Norry. And Tia Dalma, 'cause she just rocked. This one built off the first with the funny quotes ('Hide the rum', 'why is the rum -always- gone?', etc), which was a big plus for me.
Loved the jar of dirt!

Yeah I think i still prefered the first film because I'm not sure if anything can beat it for me, even though DMC sure as hell tried, it introduced me to fan fiction and a whole new obsessive side to my personality which I had no clue about before and it just plain rocked!

I'm going against the crowd, but I love DMC better, its more character driven this time, then just GGI affect, its stop being about Jack, it became about everyone. The first one has a special place in my heart, but DMC was a team effort, you couldn't decide who was better this time around. Norrighton's fan base has grown, People have either loved or hated Elizabeth, Mr Gibbs had more to do, Will has become more interesting ( not to mention hot and funny), Pintell and Ragetti .
Cannibal Island, straight out of a Bugs Bunny or Mickey Mouse cartoon. What a cliffhanger, Heck is back, and boy will Jack weep with joy NOT.
POTC has been dubbed the Star Wars of its generation, Nah. Its a genre all its own.

Hey just a thought, in the first movie after Jack saves Lizzie, Norrington opens the compass. If the compass points to what you want most, whaddya think it pointed to for Norrington? To Elizabeth or to something else?
