Well, I know it's a day early but I have to say Happy Anniversary to The Mistress' Lair. We are one year old on March 21t!
I have to say, it's been quite a year also. We've gone through many changes and they have all been for the best. From new layouts to expanding the forum completely, you all have stood behind us 100% and I would like to thank you all for being part of the family we've created.
When I first opened the site in 2006, we started out with only a few members and a handful of stories. Now, reaching 1 year, we have 87 stories and 70 members, thanks to all of you. I'm so glad that you all have come to the Lair and found yourself a nice little spot as a home away from home. Somewhere that you can play a game with friends, do a role play, or read a story.
I have to extend a special thank you to my wonderful Co-Admins Nikki and Chazza, and my Mods GG and Adri. Without all of you, the site wouldn't be so well defended against spying eyes or so well loved.
Nikki: When I brought you onto the site, I knew I was making a wonderful decision and one that I have never regretted. You are a fabulous addition to our family here in the Lair and with your skills in Spanish and your geographical knowledge, not to mention your personality, you make yourself quite the active member and a loved one at that by staff and other members. I hope you will be part of our staff for a very long time luv!
I couldn't do the updates or keep track of everything by myself and with you and Chazza, you both make the site what it is and what I always wanted it to be. Thank you so much for your activness and your great ideas. You will never undersand how much I appreciate you and your efforts.
Chazza: God girlie, I've known you for what, almost a year and a half now? Jeez, time does fly. You bring such a refreshing air to the Lair with your quirky sayings and wonderful British wit. I knew as the Lair continued to expand I would need to bring on more help and when I picked you to come aboard with Nikki and I to work the site, I didn't question the thought for even a second. You have such a maturity for someone your age and I knew that you would fit right into the niche perfectly. You can make anyone smile and you can easily disolve a problem which are two of the reasons and I luv ya so much. You also know just how to make someones day and that's by being you. God, you are an awesome friend and an amazing sis!
GG: Oh God, my Spamming Mistress! What would I do without the spamolicious girl you are? I knew when you made you a Mod, things were going to go crazy and every place needs a bit of craziness (Like all of us aren't crazy enough lol). I'm so glad you proved me right on it also. You have this dynamic personality that's so hilarious and you're such a wonderful addition to the family. I wouldn't trade you for anything in the world. Like Chazza and Nikki, I'm glad that you found a home on the Lair like they have and I look forward to many wonderful (hopefully years) of awesomeness from you too! Keep up the spamming and don't let anyone change you! You're great the way you are, you little hoe you. Sorry, couldn't resist
Adri: Wow, you've been with us since the start also. You were one of the first people I met on OM and you've backed me up on everything since then. You've always been right there to lend a helpful hand with whatever is going on and you have such wonderful ideas for things to do. You are totally our Mistress of Pirate Knowledge with your wonderful emails I recieve packed with tidbits and notes on anything pirates. Thanks for being part of the Mistress' here on the Lair.
To all the members: Without your participation, this site would not be what it is. I have to extend a very heartfelt thank you to all of you that have found yourselves coming back to the Lair. You all, the members, are what makes a website continue on because if it wasn't for the members, what would the site be besides space being taken up on the net? There are so many of you that have found a place to put up your stories, showing off your hardwork and talent, and enlightening us with the orginality of your work. Others have come here to Role Play or just to come and chat with friends. For whatever reason you come here, you are always welcome here. The Mistress' Lair will always have open doors to everyone and I can't wait to see what happens this coming year.
