Summary: Addison leaves Seattle Grace without giving her and Mark a real chance. To everyone's surprise that leaves Mark in a sad state but don't count him out yet because he's nothing if not fast on his feet. When Doctor Samantha McKenzie joins Seattle Grace to work along side Derek Shepard it's lust at first sight. But no amount of McSteamy charm can thaw her frozen heart for she's used to men like Sloan who only want one thing and it's the one thing she's just not willing to give him.

Mark slams the door of his office closed in an attempt to shut out everyone else in the hospital. The dark mood he's been in since Addison left to have her own private practice hasn't lifted in the last few weeks. After spending sixty days with no sex, she still hadn't given him a chance. Now he's betrayed and horny, a bad combination.

Samantha walks uncertainly down one of the corridors at Seattle Grace as she knows she has to find the chief's office; she's just not entirely sure where that is. She is due to meet Derek later on that morning and there is no-one around to help her out so she wanders down one of the corridors. This hospital is much larger than she first thought!

Mark sits down in his chair and goes to pick up his bone dry cappuchino only to find it not there. "Goddamn. Where is Karev when you need him?" He mutters darkly before getting up and storming out of his office for a hit of caffeine.

"Woah," Sam mutters to herself as another doctor storms out of the room by her side. She stepped back sharply, dropping the paper she was holding. "I'm sorry."

Mark's hands shoot out to grip her upper arms and steady her. "I'm sorry I didn't see you." With one hand he holds her while with the other he reaches down to get the paper she dropped. "Here you go."

"Thanks," she said, flashing a smile and looking up at him properly. "Whilst you're here you couldn't help me could you?" She asked, flashing him a pleading look. "I'm looking for the chief's office."

Mark checks her out from below his eye lashes and smiles charmingly. "Of course. Come with me," he says softly, wrapping his arm around her waist and steering her to the elevator. If elevator's work for Derek they can certainly work for him.

Sam shrugged his hand off her waist gently and extended her hand for him to shake. "I'm Doctor Mckenzie or Sam. I'm the new attendee in neurology with Derek." She paused, looking up at him with a knowing smile, "I'm guessing you must be Mcsteamy; your reputation proceeds you."

"I prefer Mark," Mark says huskily, taking her hand in his and pressing a kiss against the skin.

"Mark," Sam corrected herself and walked inside the elevator when the doors opened.

Mark pressed the fifth floor button and then turned to look at her. "What hospital did you transfer from or are you still wet behind the ears?"

"I'm we... new." Sam said, stopping herself just in time as she knew enough not to invite trouble for herself. "I knew everyone would be able to tell that." She said, more to herself than him.

Mark shook his head. "On the contrary just by looking at you I wouldn't have noticed. All I noticed from looking at you is that you're hot."

Sam smiled and looked down to cover the blush spreading across her cheeks. "You're not so bad on the eyes yourself, Mark," she said, looking up at him under her eye lashes.
